The State during the last couple of years have progressed a lot and brought its name on the World Map. The State’s main achievements during the last three years (as per the Public Relation Office) include:
Attracting 3137 crores foreign direct investment in State Industries with further 4819 crores being in pipeline.
28000 crores projects under implementation which include extension of Panipat Oil Refinery and Petro Chemical Complex.
Toping the list of exporters of Basmati Rice in the country.
Achieving third position in export of Softwares
Abolishing Octroi system and rationalising Sales Tax structures
Setting up 1210 large, medium scale industries, which include 192 large scale and 4478 small industries set up during the last three and a half years period. The State has allotted 5739 new industrial plots during the same period.
Setting up of Cyber City, cyber park and bio-technical parks in pursuance of their IT Policy formation besides introducing computerization systems in various departments.
Reduction of entertainment and cinema tax from 125% to 50%
The State in general and Gurgaon in particular is being chosen, as the destination for international corporate houses, industrialists and Delhities as well as other surrounding population, preferring to shift to Gurgaon in particular.
Gurgaon is becoming next Singapore having Glitzy shopping Malls made of glass, chrome and steel comparing Singapore’s Orchard Street. The plathora of multiplexes screams Piccadley in London, while the skyscraping condominiums look like New York’s Park Avenue. They have attracted 250 MNCs including Software Development companies, Research Labs, Call centers and Corporate Head quarters moving in Gurgaon, which is being projected as “Millennium City” of future.
